
Yesterday on the diamond, a military appreciation game was played. The National Guard supplied each player and coach with commemorative jerseys and our very own veteran, sports lover and Badger mom, Teresa Rae, thew out the honorary first pitch.
“I am honored to have been asked to participate, appreciative of our school district in hosting an event that honors Veterans in our hometown and humbled to be in the company of so many dedicated student-athlete women’s softball players.” Teresa says, “Go Badger Softball!”
The Badger softball team took the win last night against the Kellogg Wildcats 17-7. Hannah Frago led the Badgers in RBI’s with five. Ryelle Short hit an in the park homerun and gave the team four RBI’s.
“We played very aggressively and took advantage of every opportunity.” Head coach Cindy Sumpter says of last night’s game. “We had fun and played hard.”
This win brings the Badger’s record to 5-4.
The Badgers JV team travels to St. Maries today to take on the Lumberjacks for a double header starting at 3 p.m. and Varsity will play tomorrow in Rathdrum at the Lakeland Middle School field for a double header starting at 12 noon.
