Teascarlet – Cheers to two years

Hannah Suscy surrounded in “Blaze”

By Katie Banning and Mike Weland

Teascarlet Fine Art, owned and operated by the artist herself, Hannah Sucsy, had its second anniversary celebration today, complete with mimosas, beer, music and art.

Hannah welcomed and thanked each and every guest as they made their way in and out of the gallery. She sat and chatted with many about years past and the journey that it has been to get where she is now.

A Teascarlet original, the white dahlia “Her Majesty” was nicely poised on her throne, in all her glory, for all to behold. Prints of “Blaze” and the famous “Tree” paintings captured the attention of all who entered.

Not one piece of art went unseen as 85 people made their way through the gallery in support of a local artist and a dream that has been years in the making, now realized.

“So much support, celebration and enjoyment,” Hannah beamed. “People who had seen my story or art used the event as an excuse to drive up from Sandpoint. Visitors from Pullman, Washington and regulars Teascarlet is here to stay.

Parking in the city parking lot, you’ll find Teascarlet an easy stroll west on Kootenai Street, and you can do it with your eyes closed.

From the city lot, maneuver to the corner of Bonner and Kootenai Streets and try not to be distracted by the savory aroma of barbecue on the sidewalk as you pass in front of the Bonnerport Building, home of Heart Rock Wines. On second thought, follow your nose to the BBQ and get yourself big helping. You be happy and it’s easier to give directions.

When your eyes open back up, face south toward Kootenai Street. Mark the direction. After you’ve ordered the wine with which to rinse your palette, give the the kids your credit card and send them downstairs to the candy store. Take a nap.
