Road and BridgeLooking of employment? Boundary County has six employment opportunities posted; two are part-time and four are full time with benefits.

Full time positions include PERSI retirement program, Health, dental and optical insurance for employee and qualified dependents with no premium co-pay, two life insurance plans, 401k offered optionally, holiday pay for 11 recognized holidays and eight hours of vacation and sick time accrued monthly with minimum 40 hours per week worked.

In the sheriff’s office, they’re looking for a civil deputy and a communications specialist.

The civil deputy’s main responsibility is to serve legal documents as required by the court. To qualify, the applicant must have an associate’s or applied associate’s degree or certification from an accredited two-year college or professional/technical school. One year’s work as a legal secretary, paralegal, bookkeeper, accounted or in a related field preferred.

Starting wage is $21.23 per hour and the position is full time with benefits. Position closes May 30 unless filled.

Communications specialists answer telephones, including 911, and monitor radios, relaying accurate information to appropriate agencies to insure the timely and appropriate response to the situation. Must be calm and unflappable even in tense situations and have the ability to gather, analyze and disseminate information accurately and effectively. Must complete POST dispatch academy within 12 months of hire.

Position is full-time, shifts vary, to include nights, holidays and weekends. Starting wage is $21.23 per hour. Position closes May 30.

At road and bridge, they have two slots to fill; a heavy equipment operator and a master mechanic.

The master mechanic works to keep all of Boundary County’s rolling stock maintained and operable, from light trucks to road graders.

Starting wage is $23,27 per hour, full time with benefits. The position closes May 3.

The heavy equipment operator operates the trucks, graders, dozers, snow plows and more, in all conditions and all weather.

A county heavy equipment operator must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of two years in a related field. Must maintain a valid Idaho Commercial Driver’s License Class A. Must be able to pass exams and acquire CDL endorsements “tanker” within six months of hire date. Starting wage is $22.23 per hour, full time with benefits, more than full time when the weather gets bad or emergency strikes. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. May 3.

The landfill also needs a full-time equipment operator with a typical shift running from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Starting wage is $21.23 per hour.

The Restorium needs two more dedicated people, a cook/server and a personal services assistant 1.

The PSA1 is a part-time position with no benefits except knowing you are making a difference to the people you are assisting, even if some don’t show it.

Starting wage is $15.68 per hour, the position is open until filled.

The cook/server cooks or assists the cook to prepare meals for residents and guests at the Community Restorium assisted living facility. Prior food handling experience preferred.

Must be 18 or over or hold an Idaho CNA license. Starting wage is $15.68 per hour and position is open until filled.

All position vacancies occurring within Boundary County are typically posted in-house for three working days before being opened to the general public through the Bonners Ferry Job Service.
