Dan Tadlock, a local Licensed Clinical Social Worker, opened the doors to his new private practice on Monday.
Dan and his young family moved to Bonners Ferry from Cheney, Washington, two decades ago. Dan had just received his master’s degree in social work from Eastern Washington University in 2004 and moved his family to Bonners Ferry to plant roots.
“I was driven to become a therapist because I wanted to make a difference in the world around me.” Dan says, “I value helping people navigate through life’s challenges and working toward making changes to become the best version of themselves.”
Dan started his career at Ascent, an intensive residential boys’ school in Boundary County from 2004-2007 and in 2007 transitioned to the clinical director position at Northwest Academy, where he was for ten years.
In 2017, John Schrom approached him about purchasing Schrom Therapeutic Home for Boys at Hawks Landing, and for eight years, Dan and his wife, Sarah, owned Hawks Landing, a residential community integrated boys’ home where they housed, counseled, inspired and loved 56 young men and their families.
With that mission completed, the time had come for him to go into private practice.
Kootenai River Counseling opened its doors on April 28, in the Mountain View Mentoring office, 6426 Kootenai Street, Suite 103, owned and operated by Aaron and Megan Morgan.
With more than two decades of experience serving individuals and families in Boundary County, Dan Tadlock brings deep expertise and heartfelt care to every counseling session. “I want to be a valuable resource for our community to empower people to navigate challenges, develop resilience and achieve a greater sense of wellbeing – you know, help people out,” Dan adds, “I believe that is one of our community’s core values.”
“Dan has always been there for me.” One student says, “He is always there to support me though school, life and sports. He has supported me, the last three years in my journey to becoming a healthier and more productive member of society. He has changed my life, and I will miss him when I go off to start the next phase of my life.”
Dan would be delighted to meet you and do a 15 minute, free of charge meet and greet, to ensure that you are a good fit.
