Andrew Cunningham is a 100-percent disabled vet from his service during the First Gulf War, still needs a fence so he and his service dog, Bronnie, can go outside and enjoy the sunshine. He paid $2,300 down to a Coeur d’Alene handyman in 2023, and saved up the addition $4,300, sacrificing Christmas and much else, but got no fence the next spring, and he got no refund until a 9B.News article went up in December 2024.
In August 2023, Andrew had to put down his faithful companion, his service dog Lebron. The community rallied, helping lay Lebron to rest. The community, led by Dr. Roland and Linda Hall, rallied to bring Bronnie into Andrew’s life to grow and fill the hole in Andrew’s heart.
The fence is needed to keep Bronnie safe and give him room to grow and romp and play, but it’s a heavy burden for Andrew and his son, also an Army veteran.
So we contacted T&L Fencing, a local family business with a stellar reputation for quality work at reasonable rates, licensed and bonded, whose name appears on many of the best looking fences you’ll find anywhere, and they agreed to help, offering a discount to do the work as their contribution.
9B.News established the “Let’s build a yard for Bronnie!” GoFundMe account to help Andrew get the yard around his Oak Street home, and we hope to raise the full $4,100 to get the fence built before summer ends.
