Boundary County Sheriff Travis Stolley has announce two upcoming off highway vehicle (OHV) classes to be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 17, and Saturday, June 7, both at 627 Fitzpatrick Road, Bonners Ferry.
These courses are designed to promote safe and responsible operation of off-highway vehicles, ensuring participants are well-equipped to navigate Idaho’s trails and backcountry.
The OHV Course will cover essential topics, including safety and legal regulations, equipment requirements, and best practices for environmental conservation. Open to riders of all experience levels, the classes aim to foster a culture of safety and respect for public lands. Participants will receive hands-on instruction from certified instructors with extensive knowledge of OHV operation and local regulations.
Riders must provide their own vehicle and appropriate safety gear for the course (minimum of helmet, protective footwear, gloves, and eye protection.)
Pre-registration is required. Contact Amanda at the Sheriff’s Office by calling (208) 267-3151, extension 217, or by email atompkins@boundarysheriff.org
“We are committed to ensuring everyone has the knowledge and skills to enjoy Idaho’s beautiful landscapes safely and responsibly.” Sheriff Stolley said. “These courses are a great opportunity for OHV enthusiasts of all ages to enhance their skills and knowledge. Additionally, for those under sixteen years of age, successful completion of the course is required to operate on forest service roads.”
Spaces are limited, so early registration is encouraged. Stay safe and ride responsibly!
