It is hoped the polls will be packed to the gills at county polling places on Tuesday, May 20, as Boundary County electors choose a library Trustee in Zone 2 and give thumbs up or down on the Boundary County School District maintenance and operations levy. The voter registration process is going to look a bit different, however.
Instead of paper poll books, you’ll see electronic poll books keeping the information that the paper registration has done in years past. Don’t worry though, these electronic poll books will not be connected to the Wi-Fi and your information will be secure.
As always, you will need photo identification to vote. Your ID will be scanned and your information keyed into a tablet.
Checking people in will go much more quickly, hopefully alleviating lines. Votes will be counted by hand. Poll volunteers are still needed for the May 20 election. Curbside voting will still be available.
The ballots are still paper and your votes will still be hand counted in the upcoming election. To volunteer or to learn more, call the Boundary County Clerk’s Office at (208) 267-2242.
