It was a building year for the Badger varsity baseball team, with a record of 6 – 13.

“It was a learning year,” Head coach Tom Turpin says, “We improved slightly in our record, made really good improvements with batting average but need to work on getting runners home. We only have two seniors graduating with seven starters returning next year so I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do in 2026.”

The Badgers started the season off with a loss to Grangeville but then had a three-game win streak against the St. Maries Lumberjacks and the Eureka Lions. For in-conference play, the Badgers went 1-5, defeating Timberlake in one game 11-10.

Senior, Thomas Bateman was on the leaderboard in a number of different categories for the Badgers. He had a batting average of .418, a homerun and a .529 on-base percentage.

Junior Gavin Rider led the Badgers with 28 strikeouts on the season and junior, Keenan Maas led the team in RBI’s with 22.

With only two seniors leaving this year, the future is bright for Badger baseball. Onward and upward!

Go Badgers!
