For the first time in school history, Bonners Ferry High School has a tennis team. Though it be a team of just two this year, they showed their competitors what Badger Tennis is all about.
Kaitlyn Becker, the female half of Badger Tennis, blew her opponents out of the water and qualified for the Idaho State Tennis Competition in Boise.
Unfortunately, Kaitlyn did not metal at the state level, but she put Bonners Ferry on the Idaho 4A tennis map.
“It didn’t quite end as well as we had hoped,” Her dad and interim coach, John Becker says, “But she did well overall in her record for the season. She received the honor of being the first student ever to represent Bonners Ferry High School in the state 4A tennis tournament. Pretty proud dad for sure.”
Kaitlyn was the only freshman in 4A to compete at the state level this year and the Bonners Ferry Badgers one of 13 teams to participate.
Way to go, Kaitlyn and Go Badgers!
