Letter to the editor – school levy

To the Editor,

Vote no on the school levy.  Boundary County School District 22 + million-dollar budget exceeds $16,000 per student. The continued supply of money will not correct the fundamental flaw of government schools any more than government welfare corrects poverty. The government curriculum predominantly promotes liberal woke agendas; an incubator for socialism that denies God. The fear of our Creator is the beginning of knowledge and wisdom. This demands definitive truth inculcated into youth i.e. right, wrong, and that all men will ultimately be accountable for their actions/ inactions.

It is the parents’ responsibility to raise and teach their children, not the government’s. Private, home schools, and alternative schools have raised the bar of education competition with less or no public funds. The ‘Vote yes for the Kids’ propaganda is not promoting ‘local’ but woke NEA’s agenda.

On a positive note, the current superintendent and many of the teachers seem to be upright and open in their election efforts and working with alternative schooling. Thank you.

Let’s work to replace the government schools with better. Vote No on the Levy.

  1. Well said, Steve! We know from countless studies that money never fixes education. In fact, the worst performing schools across the nation are those with the most spent per student.
