My name is Tanner Liermann. I’m a Marine Corps veteran, a recent graduate of the University of Montana, and someone who was born and raised in Boundary County. I’m writing to encourage you to vote yes on the Boundary County School District #101 Supplemental Maintenance & Operations Levy on May 20, 2025.
This is not a new levy, and it is not a tax increase. It continues to support essential parts of our schools — things like safety and security, extracurricular activities, career technical programs, field trips, classroom materials and staff positions that state funding doesn’t fully cover. In short, this levy helps keep our schools running and our students learning.
I’m a direct product of what this levy helps make possible.
The foundation for everything I’ve accomplished started in the classrooms, gyms and hallways of Boundary County’s public schools. The support I received from teachers, coaches and staff helped shape my path from Bonners Ferry to the Marine Corps, earning my degree in wildlife biology, and now, to starting a PhD program this fall.
My younger siblings and cousins are growing up in this same school system. I want them and every kid in this community to have the same opportunities I did. Renewing this levy means continuing to invest in the programs, resources, and people who make those opportunities possible.
This is our community and this is our future. Please join me by investing in our community and voting yes for Boundary County’s students on May 20th.
