GeoEngineers will be conducting a subsurface exploration on the north side of the existing bridge on Wilderness Road over Deep Creek between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 3. This work is part of the planning process for the design of a replacement bridge and will involve evaluating soil and groundwater conditions in the area.
To perform this work, a truck-mounted drilling rig will be staged between the BNSF railway and the existing bridge structure. Due to the limited width of the bridge and the size of the equipment, Wilderness Road will be fully closed at the bridge during this time.
In the event of an emergency, the crew will be prepared to temporarily move the equipment to allow emergency vehicles and personnel to pass. Otherwise, the bridge will remain closed for the duration of the work.
