This year’s Special Olympics Torch Run was a huge success! 2025 local Law Enforcement Officers (LEO) alongside several local athletes, participated in the run. LEOs are known as guardians of the flame of Hope, carrying the torch as it makes its way throughout the state.
The torch started its journey in Boundary County and will make its way south, to Nampa, Idaho to kick off the Summer Games.
The Summer Games begin on June 6, 2025. The Boundary County Sheriff’s Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office is honored to host the northernmost leg of the run.
We would like to thank our partners at the Bonner Ferry Police Department, the Idaho State Police, the Boundary County Prosecutor’s Office, Boundary County Detention, Boundary County Dispatch, and Probation and Parole Officers for participating in the run, while raising awareness for the Idaho Special Olympics and these incredible athletes.
