Boundary County Sheriff Travis Stolley announced today the retirement of Chief Deputy Brian Zimmerman, who has served as undersheriff since January 13, 2025. Zimmerman, who came out of retirement to support Sheriff Stolley during this transitional period, has been instrumental in driving a cultural shift within the department toward professionalism and excellence.
“Chief Deputy Brian Zimmerman’s experience and leadership have been vital in shaping a new culture of professionalism, accountability and dedicated service at the Boundary County Sheriff’s Office,” Stolley said. “His guidance has strengthened our commitment to serving our community with integrity and excellence.”
Since January, Zimmerman has worked closely with Stolley to implement changes that prioritize effective communication, community engagement and operational efficiency. These efforts have strengthened the Sheriff’s Office’s ability to serve the residents of Boundary County while fostering a culture of integrity and commitment among staff.
Stolley expressed gratitude for Zimmerman’s willingness to return from retirement to support this vision.
“Brian’s short-term role was always part of our plan once I reached out to him in early January and he agreed to help me out,” he said, “and his impact will be felt long after his time with us concludes. We are now better positioned to continue building a Sheriff’s Office that our community can trust and rely on.”
Stolley also announced that Chief Deputy Dale Anderson will succeed Zimmerman as Undersheriff. Anderson, who retired from the Las Vegas Metro Police Department, brings a wealth of experience, a fresh perspective, and tremendous energy to the Boundary County Sheriff’s Office.
“Chief Deputy Anderson’s proven leadership and enthusiasm will help us continue to build on the foundation of professionalism and community service established under Zimmerman’s tenure,” Stolley said.
The Boundary County Sheriff’s Office remains dedicated to maintaining public safety and fostering strong community relationships.
