The Boundary County Memorial Day remembrance for those of the nation’s armed forces who gave the last full measure of devotion, who laid their lives on the altar of freedom in service to their nation, begins at 10 a.m. Monday with a parade that begins at the fairgrounds and courses through downtown Bonners Ferry.
Afterwards, all are welcome and encouraged to gather at Grandview Cemetery, where flags wave over the grave of each military veteran lying in repose there, placed there by Boundary County veterans, Scouts and others in thanks for the freedoms we owe those who gave the ultimate sacrifice on our behalf.
The events of the day have been organized by members o f our community’s veterans organizations: American Legion Post 55, Veterans of Foreign War Post 3622 and Disabled American Veterans Chapter 28.
