The Bonners Ferry Little League Majors, the Bonners Ferry Dodgers ended their season against the Sandpoint Majors Diamondbacks winning 12-2 in six innings.
This season the Bonners Ferry Dodgers went 13-1 on the season to finish with a Little League Majors best record. They played teams from Bonners Ferry, Sandpoint, and Priest River this season and they outscored their opponents with a total of 130 to 43 for the season.
“All of the players contributed to the success of the team. This team has had the best sportsmanship and discipline of any team I have ever coached.” Coach Green says, “They were so supportive of each other all season and supportive of me when my sister recently passed. We run sprints after ever game for the mental mistakes we made during the game and on the day my sister passed instead of running sprints, I asked the players to go hug their siblings and each and every one of them did. I am so proud of the players and young men they are becoming, and I look forward to seeing what their future holds.”
The future for Bonners Ferry baseball is bright! Congratulations on a great season, Dodgers!
Congratulations to the Bonners Ferry Dodgers on a successful season, all your hard work, dedication and teamwork paid off in more ways than one. Not only did your sportsmanship showed on the field but also off the field. I personally want to thank the young men on this team for showing such compassion for Coach Green, aka my big brother after the sudden and unexpected loss of our sister. The love and support truly was overwhelming and very much appreciated. I know it meant everything to Coach Green. Eileen McNutt
