Four young football players from Bonners Ferry have been selected to represent the Badgers at the 2nd Annual Idaho Bowl, an all-star football game taking place this weekend at BYU–Idaho Stadium in Rexburg.

The Idaho Bowl brings together the top middle school football players from across the state, with about 80 players selected per grade level through nominations by coaches and player evaluations. Players are chosen from a pool of well over 1000 nominees.
Representing Bonners Ferry in the 7th grade game are Helaman Hartman and Brody Swift. Hartman is a 5′7″, 165-pound linebacker known for his strength and aggressive play. Swift, standing at 5′11″ and 155 pounds, brings impressive size and speed to the field, along with a strong understanding of the game.
In the 6th grade game, Tanner Baisden and Tycen Koberstein will represent the Badgers. Both are 5′2″, 105-pound linebackers who play with grit and determination. Their hustle, toughness and leadership have made them stand out in their age group.

The Idaho Bowl is more than just a game. Players stay for three nights on the BYU-Idaho campus, train with top coaches, and participate in team-building activities. It’s a special experience that brings together players from all over the state—big and small schools alike—into mixed-region teams.
The event also raises support for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Idaho. Last year, the bowl donated thousands of dollars in supplies and gift cards, making it one of the top contributors to the organization.
Fans are encouraged to bring donations or contribute online to support the cause. Games will be played on Saturday, June 14 at BYU-Idaho Stadium.
The 6th grade game starts at 10:30 AM, and the 7th grade game begins at 2:00 PM. Admission is free, and games will be streamed live on http://IdahoSports.com.
These four young athletes have made Bonners Ferry proud. Their selection to the Idaho Bowl reflects their hard work, talent, and love for the game. Let’s cheer them on as they take the field and represent our community with pride.
Go Badgers!
