In the summer of 2024, Bonners Ferry churches were challenged. As a culture, accepting the “Pride” movement has become expected. In Bonners, traditional family values and Christ-centered homes were still the cultural norm. That, however, was all about to change when it was announced that a small “Pride” festival would be in town.
When the local pastors met, they agreed that Jesus had received “all authority in heaven and on earth.” Which includes our small town!
As they prayed, they decided the best course of action was to come together and show the community a better option. “Pride” prides itself on inclusivity, acceptance, and freedom. We believe no one is more inclusive, accepting, and able to give freedom than Jesus Christ.
Plans were set to hold the first annual “In His Image Family Festival.” It would be a time when all churches and families would come together to celebrate Christ, to show the whole world how great He truly is.
And that is precisely what happened!
Over 1,000 people from Bonners Ferry showed up to fellowship, break bread, and worship the King of kings.
With that, we decided to do it once again! This Saturday we will be meeting at the fairgrounds once again to celebrate what it means to be an image bearer of God. All are welcome to join as we enjoy live music, fresh barbecue, a gospel centered message, and fun and games for the whole family.
Festivities begin at 11 a.m. this Saturday, June 21.
Very well written article and a good message! I hope to see more of this in the future! God bless you! +
