A tribute to the loving memory of a true friend, George W. Davidson

By Darrell Kerby

1948 – 2025

George W. Davidson, brother, cherished friend, and respected professional, passed away on June 13, 2025, in Spokane, Washington. He was 77.

George was an integral member of the legendary Davidson Clan. Born and raised on the family farm in District 1 of Boundary County, George grew up with his boots on the ground and his heart tied to the Kootenai Valley. He attended all 12 years of school in Bonners Ferry, graduating from Bonners Ferry High School before going on to earn his degree in accounting from the University of Idaho. Though he would later build a successful professional life elsewhere, that North Idaho grit and decency never left him.

George launched his career as a Certified Public Accountant in Spokane, eventually establishing himself in Sandpoint where his talent, precision and unwavering ethical compass earned him a stellar reputation. He was the kind of professional you could count on: no fluff, no runaround — just solid advice and a deep well of knowledge. Clients knew they were in capable hands. Colleagues knew they were in good company.

But George was much more than numbers and balance sheets. He was quick with a laugh, generous with his time, and fully alive in the truest sense. He kept a home at Schweitzer Basin Ski Resort, where skiing and cycling fed his love for the outdoors and his lifelong commitment to staying active.

Whether swapping stories at a backyard barbecue, grinning ear to ear on a downhill run, or holding court at a dinner party, George was, in a word, unforgettable.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wally and Maxine Davidson. He is survived by his brothers Tim, Kevin, and Larry.

Though his path took him beyond Bonners Ferry, his foundation was unmistakably rooted in its values: hard work, good humor, and doing right by others. George will be remembered not only for what he accomplished, but for how he made people feel—seen, heard, and welcome.

You could say George Davidson brought a little extra light wherever he went. And if you ever heard that booming laugh echo down a ski slope or across a table full of friends, you know just how brightly that light shined.
