George Wallace Davidson

George Wallace Davidson passed away peacefully in Spokane on June 13, 2025. A celebration of George’s life will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, September 6, at the Davidson family farm, 2766 Riverside Street, Bonners Ferry.

George was born July 18, 1947, in Bonners Ferry to Wally and Maxine Davidson, longtime Bonners Ferry residents and farmers in District One.

The farm life often involved a lot of hard work, all of which taught George the value of persistence, diligence and responsibility. George maintained these life lessons full well after losing his right arm at the age of three due to a farming accident that almost took his life.

Regardless of the immense hardship this imposed, it never slowed George down or prevented him from pursuing a full and active life in every regard, which included him constructing two homes from the ground up and remodeling several others over the ensuing years.

George received 12 years of schooling in Bonners Ferry before moving on to attend college at the University of Idaho, where he pledged the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity and received a bachelor’s degree in accounting. The practice of accounting ultimately became his lifelong vocation.

Following college, George went to work for the McFarland and Alton accounting firm before discovering that corporate life was not to his liking. He soon stepped out on his own, hanging his shingle as a sole practitioner, all the while acquiring and maintaining a multitude of clients, many of whom became his best friends.

Throughout his schooling, George’s love of music led him to play the trumpet and sousaphone in both regular band and marching band. He also enjoyed woodworking, snow skiing and hiking in the great outdoors. His greatest joy came from getting together with his many friends, family, and acquaintances, playing bridge, cribbage and general partying, which he was most often the life of.

Anyone who ever attended one of George’s many parties will never forget his favorite song, the Chubby Checker rendition of “Bobba Needle”  that George would play endlessly-to everyone’s sheer delight!?

George is survived by his three brothers, Tim Davidson, Kevin Davidson, and Larry Davidson (Julie), as well as two nephews, Derek Davidson and James Davidson.
