Fourth of July celebration — a Bonners Ferry tradition

The fireworks display is a Fourth of July staple in America, and it’s no different here in far north Bonners Ferry, Idaho.

John Becker, organizer and promoter of the Bonners Ferry’s Fourth of July celebration five years running and president of Forerunner Enterprises, says “Come!”

Each year, hundreds of hours of planning, staging, organizing and fundraising are spent by John Becker and his crew of volunteers preparing for the annual Bonners Ferry fourth of July celebration. For the fifth year in a row, John and his team have worked tirelessly making this event, an affair to remember. From the parade preparations to the food vendors and entertainment prior to the grand finale, much has gone into every detail.

The festivities will begin at 2 p.m. Friday, July 4 with the staging of the parade at the Boundary County Fairgrounds’ parking lot followed by the parade set to commence at 3 p.m. and various entertainment throughout the afternoon and evening.

“This list of 54 individuals and businesses fronted the entirety of the almost $22,000 we have raised so far this year, funding an event for the entire community.” John adds.
