Bonners Ferry’s annual 5k/10k fun run supporting graduating runners with scholarships while
providing healthy, family fun!

Kootenai River Run 2025 is shaping up to be another well-attended, exciting event this year, continuing its participation in Kootenai River Days while supporting Badger graduates with scholarships for their excellence in school and participation in cross country and track.

This year begins the inaugural “Jim Cadnum Ultimate Achievement Award,” a $1,500 separate award
to the student with exemplary qualities in scholastics, stewardship, community service, and of course,
participation in the school’s running program.“ Jim is the longest standing member of the Kootenai
River Run team that anyone can recall,” said Paul Bonnell, the race’s co-director along with Jim
Cadnum and Lyndsay Hart. “As he eases out of his responsibilities, we want to honor his years of
dedication and commitment to the run with this award.”

“We’ve remained a standing event during Kootenai River Days over several years now. We love being
part of the growing fun-filled weekend with a variety of activities planned all over town,” said Lyndsay
Hart, the race’s co-director.

The Kootenai River Run is sponsored by Idaho Forest Group this year. “Having Idaho Forest Group back again this year as an official sponsor has helped us manage the cost of the run while freeing up race entries to fund our scholarships,” said Hart. “We’ve enjoyed watching this race grow and become a mainstay in our community over the years, with families coming out year after year with their kids and their friends to take part in a fun-filled morning of music, prizes, and comradery.” Added Bonnell, “Online registrations are coming in through www.raceentry.com and we’ve got a large participation of bands along the course again. And our incredibly generous local business owners have donated a fantastic group of prizes for our lucky runners.”

Kootenai River Run is Saturday, July 19 at 8 a.m., at the Boundary County Fairgrounds.
