The Rusty Moose challenges community

Second Chance Animal Adoption is currently housing 43 animals. Many of these animals are being cared for right in the facility at 6651 Lincoln Street in Bonners Ferry, but others are being graciously fostered.

“While trying to assist the community, we have acquired 23 kittens that are now in our care,” Board member, Stephanie Chase says, “All of these kittens need to be spayed or neutered and vaccinated.”

Second Chance is asking for the help of their community and Jill Nystrom, owner of The Rusty Moose Tavern and Grill heard their cry.

She made a call out to the community and pledged to match the monetary donations the community brought in. This week, community members brought in $375 making the check she wrote today $750 payable to Second Chance Animal Adoption.

The Rusty Moose Tavern and Grill has committed to match the next $200 that the community brings in. You may drop your donation off to The Rusty Moose Tavern and Grill at 7211 Main Street, in downtown Bonners Ferry.

Jill wants to challenge the community and other business owners to do the same. Every little bit helps and with your donations these pets will get much needed veterinary care that they need.
