IDL reports good progress on Clover Fire

Firefighters have been making progress battling the fire, which has spread to approximately 30 acres, and is now 75- percent contained as of 2:57 p.m. today.

The power in the area has been restored, and residents have been allowed back to their homes. However, “Go” Level evacuation is still in place for Clover Lane residents due to the proximity to the fire.

Residents north of Clover Lane up to Sandy Ridge Road between Highway 95 and Deep Creek Loop are in “Set” evacuation status and should still be prepared to evacuate if conditions change.

Residents north of Sandy Ridge Road for \]one mile are in “Ready” status and should monitor local media and emergency alerts for changes in status. The evacuation shelter at the county fairgrounds has been closed due to the lifting of evacuations.

Today, winds are expected to be gusty and erratic today with a wind shift occurring in the afternoon to evening from the north/northeast, potentially impacting fire behavior.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.

The Idaho Department of Lands (IDL) is battling the fire alongside resources from the US Forest Service, Northside Fire, Montana DNRC, as well as numerous local, contracted, and volunteer services.

Today, crews continue to work toward complete containment, with mop-up operations advancing inward from control lines. Heavy equipment operators will be working to help suppress the burning logs.
