BONNERS FERRY – Dave Wenk, long-time community leader and dedicated public servant, is officially announcing his candidacy for Boundary County Commissioner – District 1. With faithful, active involvement in Boundary County, Wenk offers broad experience, steady leadership, and a strong commitment to the values that define the community.
Currently serving as the Boundary County Noxious Weed Superintendent for the past 11 years, Wenk has led on both local and state levels. His record of service includes:

• President, Idaho Noxious Weed Control Association
• Chairman, Boundary County Snowmobile Advisory Board
• Board Member, Boundary County Fair Board
• Chairman, St. Ann’s Catholic Church Finance Council
• Chairman, Boundary County Republican Central Committee
• Naples Precinct Committeeman
Past Service:
• Captain, South Boundary Fire Protection District
• EMT, Boundary County Volunteer Ambulance
• Board Member, Boundary County Translator District
• Chairman, Idaho Association of Noxious Weed Control Superintendents
In his prior career, Wenk also successfully ran multiple businesses, giving him hands-on experience in budgeting, management, and strategic decision-making, skills he plans to bring to the commissioner’s office.
Wenk is a family man, active outdoorsman, and involved church member. His children are proud graduates of Boundary County School District 101, and he has spent many years volunteering throughout the community.
“I believe in leadership that listens, leads with integrity, and delivers results,” said Wenk. “I’m running because I love this county and want to help ensure its future remains strong, independent, and rooted in our shared values.”
