Missing twins found safe thanks to an observant citizen

An observant citizen contacted the Boundary County Sheriff’s office at around 7:45 p.m. on August 28, 2025, with information that ultimately led to the safe recovery of the missing Eliassen twins.
Boundary County Deputy Tony Jeppesen responded and located footprints in the area. Boundary County Search and Rescue’s K9 team responded along with Border Patrol Agents. We were also aided by an air asset equipped with FLIR.
Combining their efforts, the team was able to locate the twins ensuring their safety.
The air asset, donated by Dahler Quest Aviation, was vital in locating the evasive twins using their FLIR capabilities.
