Local woman seeks son she adopted out 57 years ago

Laurel Kriedel-Martin has a heart as big and as wide as the ocean. She and her late husband, Bob, adopted their daughter, Crystal to add to Bob’s three boys from a previous marriage. The Martins have fostered and raised 136 children since the early 2000’s and now, Laurel is seeking to know the son she gave up so long ago.

Originally from Prescott, Arizona, Laurel Kriedel gave birth to a baby boy with dark curly hair in May of 1968 at Southwest Community Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma with her OB physician being Dr. Dorr. Being young at the time, she felt it was in the baby’s best interest to be put up for adoption.

Not much is known about him or even who his adoptive parents are or were. She had an insurance agent friend named Wayne Mulligan and friends of his adopted Laurel’s child.
