Boundary County firefighters are passing the boot today in honor of Priest River firefighter J. Hank Hester, 70, who died of a heart attack on Monday, September 8, while working the Dragon Bravo Fire burning in Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona.
Firefighters from throughout the county are set up in front of Fire House Vine & Hops, formerly Heart Rock Wines, 6371 Kootenai Street, Suite 11, Bonners Ferry, and passing the boot all through the Bonners Ferry City Parking Lot.
All proceeds will go to Hester’s family to help with services.
