Friends of historic places has historic season

The Friends of Boundary County Historic Places has had a very successful season, starting the year by hosting an open house at Snyder Guard Station and following up with three projects and a Bingo night at the Eagles!

Sixteen volunteers, both local and non-local, donated more than 400 hours of work to clean West Fork cabin, build an outhouse at Black Mountain lookout, and repair and construct fence, plant flowers and improve interpretive displays at Snyder Guard Station. They donated more than $3,500 in materials and supplies.

The Friends will be hosting the Fall Open House at Snyder Guard Station this Saturday, September 27, to celebrate the county, our historic buildings and our year.

Snyder is located on the Moyie River Road just south of Good Grief. There will be signs to greet you. For those of you who would prefer not to drive, the Spot bus will pick folks up at the Fairgrounds at 10 a.m. and return by 12:30 p.m. There will be free cookies and popcorn.

Please join us. The day looks like it will be beautiful and there is not a better way to greet the all.
