Four candidates, two BF city council positions up for grabs

By Mike Weland

Idaho votes logoOnly residents of Bonners Ferry will be going to the polls in Boundary County on Tuesday, November 4, as the only race this election cycle is for two four-year seats on the Bonners Ferry City Council, with incumbents Ron Smith and Brion Poston facing challengers Tony Bates and Adam Bertoldo.

The two candidates receiving the most votes will win. All four were sent emails from 9B.News requesting information, in their own words, that we might publish about their candidacies that readers might better know those seeking to represent them.

None responded by the deadline. We extend the invitation and will publish each candidate’s statement and photo received prior to the election.

Eligible Idaho voters have until 5 p.m. Friday, October 24, to register to vote next month. You’ll need your driver’s license and proof of residency. You can also register at the polls on election day.

Eligible county voters who can’t make it to the polls at the Boundary County Fairgrounds November 4, to include military personnel and civilians living abroad, have until 5 p.m. Friday, October 24, to request an absentee ballot. You can also register at the polls.

To ensure your eligibility and right to vote in Boundary County, stop in at the courthouse, 6452 Kootenai Street, Bonners Ferry, and converse with the professionals in the clerk’s office, or visit voteidaho.gov.
