The Civil Air Patrol is hosting their annual chili cook off and dessert auction this year at the Senior Hospitality Center located at 6635 Lincoln Street, tomorrow, November 8, 2025. This event will run from 5 to 7 p.m. and provide not only the delicious food, but also the opportunity to learn more about the Civil Air Patrol.The Civil Air Patrol is not a military program; rather it is a leadership and aerospace program designed to help youth learn to both fly but also learn to lead and serve in their communities. The Civil Air Patrol students will fly for free with the instructors.
For ages 12 and up, the Civil Air Patrol also has opportunities for adults to serve as well. And not just pilots. While the title ‘Civil Air Patrol’ seems to be geared toward those who desire to serve in the military, there is no pressure to join. The leaders in the Civil Air Patrol have a deep desire to foster physical fitness and mental prowess while helping strengthen civic bonds.
