A Coeur d’Alene Realtor has been taken into custody on a Boundary County charge of lewd and lascivious conduct with a minor under 16 dating back a dozen years. Investigators believe there may be additional victims and encourage them to come forward by calling (208) 267-3151.
According to Boundary County Sheriff Travis Stolley, Scott D. Smith, born in 1976, was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon following the execution of a Boundary County arrest warrant obtained by BCSO Detectives Brandon Blackmore and Nick Delavan. Detectives Blackmore and Delavan, who serve as members of the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force, were present during the arrest, alongside other task force officers.
This arrest stems from an ongoing investigation into allegations of inappropriate conduct involving a minor dating back to January 1, 2013 and continuing into 2014. According to court records, he is alleged to have engaged in oral sex with a 13 year old boy.
Smith was booked into the Kootenai County Jail and is awaiting transfer to Boundary County.
No further details about the investigation or the victim will be released at this time to protect the privacy and integrity of the case.
Stolley extends his thanks to the United States Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force for their support in this operation.
The Boundary County Sheriff’s Office, Stolley said, remains committed to protecting vulnerable members of our community and working with federal partners to ensure justice is served.
