At a security conference meeting in Halifax Nova Scotia (according to an Associated Press article), Mike Rounds, a Senator from South Dakota, made the statement, “This administration was not responsible for this release (of the peace plan) in its current form. They want to utilize it as a starting point. It looked more like it was written in Russian to begin with.”
Meanwhile Marco Rubio was posting on X: “The peace proposal was authored by the U. S. It is a strong framework for ongoing negotiations.”
And Tommy Pigott, a State Department spokesperson, said “The Senators’ account was blatantly false.”
And meanwhile, we hear nothing from the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, especially from Jim Risch, its chairman. Or Pete Ricketts from Nebraska.
What a fiasco! Chaos!
All three of these senators, Rounds, Risch and Ricketts (the 3 Rs) are up for reelection. And all three are being challenged by veterans who are running as Independents and support Ukraine. It’s time to bring these candidates, their common sense and military honed leadership to the Senate.
If you reside in one of their states, vote for them in November, 2026:
- Todd Achilles, Idaho
- Brain Bengs, South Dakota
- Dan Osborn, Nebraska
Bring independent leadership to the U.S. Senate!
