Drivers in fatal Highway 95 collision named

The driver of the pickup involved in a fatal collision on Highway 95 near Cindy Lane south of Elmira November 22 has been identified as Rick Gross, 61, Moyie Springs, According to material released by the Idaho State Police from the investigation, which continues, charges are pending.

According to the report, Gross was driving south on Highway 95 near mile 489.8 in a blue 2011 Dodge Ram when he pulled into the northbound lane to pass four vehicles he’d been following that had been traveling below the speed due to falling snow and a slushy road surface.

At about 8:35 a.m., he hit a northbound black 2008 Ford Edge driven by Anna Andreykovets, 33, Otis Orchards, Washington, and friend Amanda Corollo, 33, Deer Park, Washington, and her children Patrick, born in 2017, and Amelia, born in 2019.

According to family later, they were on their way to one of Patrick’s hockey games in British Columbia.

Gross’s pickup went over on its left side and came to a rest in the northbound ditch, Andreykovets’s SUV came to rest in the northbound lane, facing southwest.

Amelia was pronounced dead at the scene, all other occupant were taken to area hospitals.

Drugs and alcohol were not factors.
