When she went to bed Thursday, McKinley Hobson, 2, was excited about getting a Christmas tree with presents under it to show her dada and memaw, Dennis and Chastity Webster, Bonners Ferry. That changed suddenly early Friday morning. Now she just wants to go home, but there’s no home to go to.

At about 3:30 a.m. Friday, McKinley and her parents, Derrick and Aidan, were jolted awake by the terrible crash of a vehicle smashing through the wall of their Libby area home and into McKinley’s room and an adjacent bath. It came to a stop about two feet shy of her bed.

With a car-sized hole in the wall, the bedroom destroyed, no water or electricity because of the extensive damage to wiring and plumbing, the house is uninhabitable, leaving the young family, Derrick a welder and Aiden a dental assistant, to look for a house they can afford and turn into a home with but limited resources.

To help, memaw set up the “Displaced Family Seeks New Home After Crash” account on GoFundMe.

Those who would like to contribute but prefer can mail donations to Derrick or Aidan Hobson, 4160 MT Hwy 37 #1, Libby, MT 59923.

If anyone has a rental available, please call Aidan at (208) 290-0299.
