This week Brett Ashworth gave the Bonners Ferry Rotary a great update on his recent purchase of Bonners Books, 7195 Main Street in downtown Bonners Ferry. He said things will mostly stay the same with a few improvements but the same small town warm welcome. Some expressed sadness at the prospect of not seeing John O’Connor there, his having worked at Bonner Books before buying it in 1986, always willing to go out of his way to find whatever oddball book his customers might request.

But John will keep working there for the time being and Brett is just as committed to his customers, and happy to carry on the tradition of findings those oddball books!

If you’re looking for some great Christmas gifts, Brett says they have lots … Audrey Shenck said on Facebook that she stopped in Wednesday to pick up a book for her nine year old granddaughter and took care of six gifts while she was there!

From music books, kid’s activity books, books on hiking to growing mushrooms to philosophy to regional authors and history and so much more, you’re almost certain to find that perfect book (or many of them), and if they don’t have it, they can get it!

Bonners Books is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays. To learn more, or to put in an order for an oddball book, call (208) 267-2622.

The Bonners Ferry Rotary meets at noon the first and third Tuesday of each month at Mugsy’s Tavern and Grill, 7161 Main Street, also in downtown Bonners Ferry. To learn more, visit bonnersferryrotary.com.
