Illegal immigration threatens our nation’s foundation and future

What on Earth is going on? Recent videos show military aged young men from Africa crossing our southern border unimpeded. More than 37,000 Chinese nationals crossed our southern border illegally in 2023 alone. Debit cards of $10,000 apiece are being handed out to illegal immigrants in New York City. This week in San Francisco a foreign national was sworn in as an official on the elections commission.

What the hell is going on?

This is not merely a frustration, not a minor political problem to worry about, this is an absolute outrage, an existential crisis for our nation!

America is in danger like never before. Why is this happening? Who is responsible? We are sick to death of hearing platitudes like “secure our border.” Our leaders have no intention of securing our border, and it’s time we ask ourselves why?

It’s reckless, it’s dangerous, and it’s expensive. Yet it gives Washington elites and the Biden administration — or whoever is running the White House — more power.

How?

Illegal immigration takes power away from law abiding citizens. It makes a mockery of the rule of law, giving power to those who intentionally break our laws. If you value freedom, law and order, and our cultural heritage, you should be outraged. If you respect our nation, the greatest ever to exist in human history, then it’s time to ask what the hell is going on?!

Illegal immigration takes jobs away from law-abiding Americans. It threatens the safety of our communities. It dilutes our voter base, taking away the sanctity of your vote.

You might think the problem is far away from here. Let Texas deal with it, let the federal government worry about enforcing the law. But it affects Idaho too, that’s the plain truth of the matter. Millions of illegal immigrants pouring into our country year after year affects all of us. Illegal immigration brings crime, drugs, sex trafficking, terrorism, and more. When we stop enforcing our laws, we’re telling all the bad actors in the world that we are defenseless, that they can come here and do whatever they want.

It doesn’t have to be this way. There are enough laws on the books now to take care of this problem, and House Republicans passed a strong border bill last year. National leaders can solve this crisis today if they wanted to, which means they want it to continue. It’s time to say enough is enough.

It’s time for patriotic Americans to stand up and say WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?

Oh Dorothy, Dorothy, Dorothy! What disingenuous tripe! My guess as to what’s going on is that Donald Trump posted a “Truth” of late asking for a stir on immigration, because within minutes of receiving yours, I got one from Mike Simpson, also blaming President Joe Biden but offering no constructive ideas that would help. And am I remembering a nightmare wherein a bi-partisan immigration bill drafted by Senator James Lankford, a conservative Oklahoma Republican, was unceremoniously dumped without hearing a few short days ago because Donald Trump didn’t like the timing? Needing, as he does, the very crises he stirred up from nothing way back in 2015 during his first run for the white house.

And forgive me, the only thing of substance House Republicans have passed in the last two years is wind. Like just about everything else the House does these days, the Secure the Border Act was a poor piece of performance art designed not to help the problems at the border, but to own the libs and prove the Texas authors’ conservative credentials.

Hey … wait a minute. If Biden is responsible for the border crises, WHY IN THE HELL WAS TRUMP PROMISING A WALL IN 2015? Where is that wall, by the way? Did it work? Did Mexico pay for it? But Dorothy! He said it would work! If that’s so, shouldn’t Trump be taking the blame instead Biden? Silly me, of course not. Trump never apologizes and never admits he was wrong or at fault.

And Dorothy? I know you got those scary examples off the innerwebs, it’s why the MAGA propaganda is uniform coast to coast. It would be handy if, before you waved them around to scare people, you look them up on Google:

From Snopes: The longest and earliest version of the footage we found was published on TikTok on June 1, 2023, and its caption in Arabic (we used Google Translate) read, “Deporting young Egyptians from Libya, may God make it easy for them.

The Truth: More than 37,000 Chinese citizens were arrested for illegally crossing the southern border of the US in 2023, according to US Customs and Border Protection. That number is nearly 10 times the total in 2022 and more than double that of the entire previous decade.
– The Claim: Debit cards of $10,000 apiece are being handed out to illegal immigrants in New York City.
The Truth: Nothing to do with Biden … It’s New York Mayor Eric Adams’s pilot program that will provide immigrants with prepaid debit cards to buy only food and baby supplies. They will be loaded with an average of $12.52 per person, per day for 28 days. You see, you have to remember that in addition to being illegal, immigrants are still people. And it would be downright rude to overlook that fact after somebody made so many promises and went to so much trouble and (taxpayer) expense to send them to you. Isn’t that right, Governor DeSantis, Governor Abbott?
– The Claim: This week in San Francisco a foreign national was sworn in as an official on the elections commission.
The Truth: Kelly Wong, an immigration rights activist who came to the US in 2019 from Hong Kong for graduate studies, was unanimously appointed by San Francisco’s Board of Supervisors to the city’s Elections Commission on February 14. Wong’s appointment is the result of a 2020 voter-approved measure that removed the citizenship requirement to serve on San Francisco boards, commissions and advisory bodies. Each of the commission’s seven members is appointed by a different city official, such as the mayor, city attorney or district attorney. The Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to appoint Wong.

Did you ever consider the possibility that Trump’s false claims of open borders and incessant lies that the Biden administration is doing nothing are being heard not only by your “Patriotic Americans” but also by those dusky-hued neighbors to the south he warned us about? Those who now, like our ancestors before us, yearn to breathe free and reach a land that holds out the beacon of opportunity that they can pursue their dreams of happiness and purpose … a land where all are equal under the law?

Despite all the GOP allegations that Biden’s at fault, I’ve yet to hear that he’s gone to China, Africa, Mexico or anywhere else, pockets full of debit cards, and invited anyone free passage through any open border. Sorry, Dorothy. Once again all y’all MAGA minions just being led by that ring you let them put in your nose. And I think there are 37,000 Chinese nationals in 2023 alone who would refute your contention of a wide-open border.

And so, Mrs. Moon, I agree with you, America is in danger like never before. But it’s not the illegal immigrants who pose the threat.
