Cleanup underway at Ambush Rock

As part of the reclamation and clean-up of Ambush Rock, the Kootenai Tribe of Idaho, working with Goodfellow Bros. and Boundary County Search and Dive Rescue, began clearing the car bodies along the shoreline of the Kootenai River.

Ambush Rock is located adjacent to the Search and Rescue boat launch in Bonners Ferry. The Boundary County SAR Dive Team has volunteered to assist with the removal of the car debris as part of their emergency training program.

The SAR boat launch had intermittent closures to remove the debris.

You can see video clips of the work on the Boundary County Museum’s Facebook page.
