Idahoans will not stand by while libraries, liberties are threatened

I am thrilled to share with you the incredible success of our Day of Action in response to the troubling new library book bounty law that went into effect on Monday.

Idahoans from Boise to Spirit Lake, Sandpoint to Nampa, Meridian to Soda Springs, and beyond came together in 21 day action events across the state. These events were not only a powerful display of unity but also a direct message to the GOP politicians who supported this bill: Idahoans will not stand idly by as our freedoms are threatened.

\One of the most heartening aspects of the day was the gratitude expressed by librarians who were deeply touched by our show of support. Our efforts did not go unnoticed; statewide media coverage highlighted Idaho Democrats standing up to protect our libraries.

I want to extend my deepest gratitude to the hundreds of Idahoans who participated in this Day of Action. Your dedication and passion are what drive our movement forward.

As we look ahead to November, it’s vital that we continue to educate our fellow Idahoans about the stakes involved in defending our rights and freedoms. Together, we can uphold the freedom to read and ensure that our libraries remain open and accessible to all.
