The Bonners Ferry Seniors Center annual meeting is coming up in September 23, but director Linda Lederhos would like to get word out that the deadline for letters of interest is 3 p.m. Monday, August 26. At least three seats are to be filled.
Linda advised that those applying should expect, if elected, playing an active role that will require more than filling a seat once a month. It’s been quite a summer at the seniors center, and while things have calmed down and returned to near normal, with some outstanding strides made, much work is yet to be done that will require board participation and oversight.
Letters of interest should include a brief summary of any experience, education or skills beneficial to the administration of a seniors center, why you are interested in giving of your time and skill and a synopsis of your vision of what the Bonners Ferry Senior Hospitality Center could be. They can be dropped off at the center, 6635 Lincoln Street, Bonners Ferry, or mailed to Seniors Hospitality Center, P.O. Box 1639, Bonners Ferry, ID 83805.
You don’t have to be a senior or a member to serve on the board, though membership is required to vote. Memberships are $5 per year, available at the center.
