It was a busy week for the Badgers.  So busy in fact, that some of the scores and stats didn’t make it to the editor’s desk, but here’s what we have to report for the week:

Girls and boys varsity soccer teams were both victorious on Saturday, September 7, over the St. Maries Lumberjacks! The girls volleyball teams all won against the Troy Trojans on Friday. Boys JV soccer took the win over Post Falls, 4-1.

Homecoming Friday … it was quite the long day.  It started out with the yearly ‘HOCO’ parade at noon featuring Badgers of all ages; from the junior cheerleaders to the high school cross country team to the band and FFA then finally the reason for homecoming; the Varsity football team; they were prepped and amped up for the game soon to follow.  Immediately after the parade was the BBQ put on by Mountain West Bank and then to the football field for the powderpuff games.

Two football players from each high school grade coached a group of girls in match ups with each other.  It started with freshman vs. seniors and sophomores vs. juniors then sophomores vs. seniors.  After a few lively matches, the senior girls, coached by Brody Rice, Thomas Hoggan and Thomas Bateman, took the ‘W’ for seniors.

The Northwest Christian Crusaders traveled to take on the Badgers for the homecoming game under the lights. The Badgers started out strong, holding the Crusaders in the first quarter.

The homecoming King, Makeen Loretta, and Queen Syndey Hinthorn led court at half time and announced the winner of the best of Badger Pride, the new place to be, Two Brews Coffee, as well as the winner of the homecoming festivities: the seniors.

The Badgers ultimately fell 8-48.  It was a heartbreaking loss, but, in true Badger fashion, the team will pull themselves up by their bootstraps and work even harder. They are just about ready for this Friday night as they travel to Lakeside High School.

The Bonfire following the game was a nice relaxing success after such a busy week for the Badgers and the Saturday night Homecoming dance even more so with so many wonderful volunteers; parents, chaperones, meal preppers, clean up crew and more.  The Jantz barn with as beautiful as ever with the lights hung, music playing and food for the masses.  It was magical.  The perfect ending to yet another successful Badger homecoming week.
