Has Bonner County Republican Central Committee (BCRCC) Chairman Scott Herndon defected from his own party? Herndon, a newcomer to Idaho politics, first registered to vote in Idaho just eight years ago. He later rose to chair the BCRCC and served as state Senator for the 2023-24 term. In this year’s May primary, Herndon was defeated by life-time Republican Jim Woodward for the LD1 Senate seat.
Accordingly, Woodward appears on the November ballot as the Republican Senate candidate.
Yet in a recent public announcement, Herndon, chair of the Republican party, encouraged voters to stop the Republican candidate, Woodward, from winning the November election. Is Herndon truly a Republican or does he have a mouthful of sour grapes?

I think I would use another word for Herndons mouthful but it’s not nice to use that kind of language. Mr. Herndon is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to those folks trying to destroy the Idaho Republican party. He is just one of many new transplants to Idaho who are working to make Idaho as bad as the places they have come from. When I got home from the Navy in 1974, Boundary County was all fired up about the Californians moving here.
At the time people were moving here I was somewhat concerned, but over time those people that had moved here from California and other places assimilated into our community and adopted our way of life and became good members of our community.
We are still getting people from California and other states but the ones I’ve met just want to live up here and enjoy what we have. People like Herndon on the other hand have an agenda that just doesn’t fit Idaho. He’s a loser. His nasty campaign against Jim Woodword showed his true colors.
Don’t let losers like Herndon influence you.
