It was a long week for the Badgers this week. Cross Country and Volleyball had districts, the girls and boy’s varsity soccer teams went to state and the varsity football team played their last game of the season. For the girls cross county, senior, Sydnee Beckle placed third in the conference to secure her fourth trip to the state meet. Kylie Calderone, Matisyn Stiern, Gia Roemer, Cheyenne Schutte, Kya Alderman and Abby Huggins also made the cut and will be traveling to state this weekend to show the masses what Bonners Ferry is all about. Unfortunately, the boy’s cross country team ran hard but fell short for the state goers.
The Varsity boy’s soccer team ended the season 10-2 and 2nd in 4A Intermountain League and second place in the state consolation bracket against Sun Valley. Senior Nikita Rawson led the team with 37 goals and 86 points on the season. Senior Eli Blackmore led with 13 assists and Sophomore Cardon Pluid with 86 saves.
The varsity girls’ soccer team went 6-4 and took third in the 4A Intermountain League. Junior Maddie Hart led the team this year with 30 points and 13 goals and junior Hallie Thompson with 92 saves for the season! Nice job Badgers!
The varsity football team ended their season last Friday night with a heartbreaking loss with the Tigers winning 22-7 on the Badgers senior night.
The varsity volleyball team is off to state! Winning the playoff game on Monday 3-2 against Timberlake brought their record to 2-0 and 1st place in the 4A Intermountain League with 10-8 overall. The Badgers had a season kill total of 704 led by senior Helene Rae with 292 followed by Sophomore Taren Batemen with 222. Badger Volleyball opens Idaho State Championship play at 3pm on Thursday, October 31, 2024 at Lake City High School in Coeur d’Alene.
