Baptiste AitkenBaptiste Andrew Aitken, 38, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2024, at Coeur d’Alene Health of Cascadia. Viewing will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, November 14, in the Kootenai Tribal Hall, 100 Circle Drive, Bonners Ferry. Funeral Services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, November 15, also in the Kootenai Tribal Hall at 9:00 am. Burial will follow in the St. Michael Mission Cemetery.

Baptiste was born on December 30, 1985, the son of Robert and Zoe Tate Aitken in Sandpoint. He grew up in Bonners Ferry and attended the Bonners Ferry High School.

Baptiste was an accomplished artist, and liked to use pens to make his beautiful drawings. He enjoyed being outdoors snowboarding and four wheeling. Baptiste liked to share his musical talents with friends writing songs. He enjoyed collecting cars and customizing the sound systems.

Baptiste is survived by his daughter Ami Aitken, sister Leah (Sven) Jaeger, brother Joel Cherry, nieces Audra Woods and Jocelyn Cherry, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death his parents, grandparents Xavier Aitken and Amelia Trice, George Tate and Francis Tate, daughter, Baylee Mendenhall, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
