Avalanche warning issued for North Idaho

The Idaho Panhandle Avalanche Center, Sandpoint, has issued an avalanche warning indicating high avalanche hazard for the entire forecast region, which includes Bonner, Boundary, Kootenai and Shoshone counties. This warning does not apply to local ski areas within the forecast region, and danger will remain high through Thursday at elevations above 5,500-feet in the St. Joe Mountains of the Silver Valley, Selkirk Range and Cabinet Mountains of Northern Idaho and Western Montana.
