Badger basketball district payoffs on tap

Bonners Ferry Buddy BadgerThe Badger girls won their opener of the Intermountain League Title, and they’ll travel to Spirit Lake to take on the Timberlake Tigers for the second game at 6 p.m. Wednesday. If a third game is needed, they’ll play at Timberlake Thursday, time to be determined. In a two-team league, the team to win two games travels to state.

The lady Badgers are 13-7 on the season and 0-2 in league. The Tigers are 14-6 on the season, 2-0 in league. Timberlake is ranked fourth in state 3A standings, the Badgers eighth.

If the Badgers win districts, they travel to the state championship tournament in Middleton February 15-17.

The Badger boys are playing their last regular season game tonight at 7 p.m. at home, taking on Lakeside High School. They’ll face Timberlake at home at 6 p.m. Tuesday, February 20, and 6 p.m. Thursday, February 22. At the moment, the Badgers are 16-3 on the season and 2-0 in league, Timberlake is 14-6 on the season, 0-2 in league.

In state 3A standings, the Badgers are in second place behind Snake River, 18-2 on the season and 4-0 in league. If they prevail against Timberlake, they travel to Meridian for the 3A state championship tournament February 29 to March 2.
