Badger cheerleaders bound for state

The Badgers cheerleaders hit the road for districts this weekend in Lewiston, and as the bus was preparing to leave, head coach Teri Hinrichs said, “We are super excited to represent Bonners Ferry Badgers at our district competition today and show how hard we have been working for the last few months.”

The Badgers were ready to compete on Saturday for the privilege to go to the state cheerleading championships in routine categories show, pom and sideline. The team hoped to take all three to state, having come off the Prairie Classic Cheer Competition January 27 as Grand Champions with first place titles in sideline routine, all girl show routine and second in pom routine.

And while the Intermountain League title went to Timberlake this weekend, the Badger Cheerleaders; Brenna Stewart, Abi Alcaide, Elisa Gorino, Kynsie Hinrichs, Kylee Gardner, Alyssa Gardner, Evelynn Mart, Alleigh Sutich, Amara Stewart, Jordyn Fowler, Rhia Magee, Brooke McEwen, Madi Hurst, Gracie Pluid, Giuliani Abraham, Cian McCalmont and Haven Christian, did what they set out to do.

On Saturday, February 24, the Badger Cheerleaders will be at the Ford Idaho Center in Nampa for the 2024 Idaho State Cheerleading Championships to vie for titles in all three routines.

“The Badgers have increased their routine scores throughout the last three weeks, picking up multiple first places and even grand champs,” Teri said, “and are excited about finishing their season off at state in two weeks.”

Joining Coach Hinrichs and the team will be assistant Coaches are Jessica Edmundson and Nicole Fitch.
