On Saturday, Salisia “Sally” Olson, the daughter of Heather and Troy Olson and an eighth grader at Boundary County Middle School, competed for the second time at the Regional Spelling Bee at North Idaho College. She battled hard and when all was spelled and done, she came out seventh out of 38 contestants! Her first time four years ago when she was a fourth grader she lost out in the first round. She made it to the fifth round this time and her family couldn’t be more proud!
“My favorite part of the experience was having another parent of a speller tell me what an incredible young lady Sally is because she was giving ‘hi fives’ to all her fellow competitors and was cheering everyone on,” Heather writes. “That is the wonderful human that our Sally is. She amazes me daily and we’re so glad she’s ours!”
