Regina Viola Dasenbrock Eberhardt passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2024, in Lewiston. She was born Sept. 13, 1937, to Edward Dasenbrock and Rose Nuxoll Dasenbrock. Regina spent her early childhood on her family’s idyllic farm in Greencreek, Idaho. She attended Greencreek Grade School, Holy Family School and Clarkston High School, from which she graduated in 1955. After high school, Regina attended nursing school at Lewis-Clark State College, and after graduating, began work at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
In 1958, she married Kenneth Calene, with whom she had three beautiful children: Teresa Stephenson, Kevin Calene and Patricia Offt. Regina and Kenneth later divorced. Regina continued working at the hospital until 1962, and at the Elm Street Care Center until 1964, when she and her family moved to Bonners Ferry, where she was the supervisor of Boundary County Convalescence Center through 1965. She and her family came back to Clarkston where she was a homemaker and avid volunteer with Holy Family School and Campfire.
In 1973, Regina began working for Head Start, where she would remain for ten years, as a teacher, a center supervisor, and the Health Coordinator for Lewiston and Clarkston programs. She married Boyd Eberhardt Jr. in 1974. She retired from Head Start in 1983 to homemake and help with her grandchildren.
Regina was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Lewiston and was a passionate and devoted volunteer. She was also part of Orchards Hobby and Craft Club and Good Sam’s Club. She crafted often, with her favorite activities including crochet and making ceramics. She and Boyd loved to travel and went from Alaska to Kentucky, Canada to Mexico, by plane, train and most commonly, in their RV. They spent 43 wonderful years together. Boyd passed away in 2017.
Regina is survived by her three children, her seven grandchildren and her four great-grandchildren. She left a lasting and powerful impression on her family with her love, strength and devotion.
