On Wednesday, September 25, the Bonners Ferry Police Department was dispatched to a theft call on Kaniksu Street. The individual pictured allegedly stole a Harris campaign sign on the side of the road. This is the second sign stolen from the same location since September 20.
If anyone recognizes the truck or the individual in the photograph, you are asked to contact the Bonners Ferry Police Department at (208) 267-2412.
Taking someone else’s property is against the law no matter the item. Theft of an item valued under $1,000 is a misdemeanor, over $1,000 a Felony. Idaho Code defines theft as “intent to deprive another of property or to appropriate the same to himself or to a third person, he wrongfully takes, obtains or withholds such property from an owner thereof.”
General rule of thumb, police say, if it is not yours, do not take it or do anything with/to it.
